Case Study

Generational change after a quarter of a century

The eurogard GmbH had its 25th anniversary in 2020. In 2021, the founders managed to initiate a successful company succession.

Founded in 1995, we have been dedicated to developing software and hardware that enable our customers to drive their digitalization strategies and generate added value. Our product portfolio initially included hardware and software for industrial remote access as well as the planning and implementation of MSR projects. Thanks to our extensive technical expertise and various MSR projects in particle measurement technology since 1997, we were able to acquire our first commission in GMP monitoring systems more than 16 years ago. Since then, we have continuously developed and expanded our cleanroom monitoring systems under the leadership of Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Kolks. Today, a team of nine employees is working to provide our customers with the best possible service, from initial project planning to operational support.

Our solutions are modular and can be extended almost indefinitely. We can implement company-wide topologies with a large number of data points or just a single measurement with a particle counter. Customers appreciate eurogard solutions in that our systems can be easily integrated into existing, sometimes highly complex IT infrastructures.

Led by Karl Symior, eurogard has markedly advanced and shaped the areas of remote access and IIoT.

With our hardware products, we have made remote access to plants and machines possible for our customers. With us, you can connect your machines and equipment, access them securely and reliably from anywhere in the world, avoid unnecessary on-site visits and reduce your carbon footprint, saving time and money, and increasing customer satisfaction. Easy and secure plant access, data preparation and IIoT gateways thanks to eurogard hardware.

The generational change initiated on the occasion of the company’s anniversary, in which the founders Karl Symior and Johannes Kolks gradually transferred the company management to their successors Maike Symior and Dr Peter Becker, means continuity and further development for eurogard and our customers. Our goal is to focus even more on the areas of monitoring systems, remote access and IIoT, to gradually expand our product range and to grow together with our existing and new customers. With our network partners and the university institutes of RWTH Aachen University, we are striving for a variety of collaborations to develop the processes and technologies of tomorrow, so that we can continue to generate added value for our customers through digitalization. Just as we started over a quarter of a century ago.
